Coming talent at Rookie Camp
This year’s rookie camp shows promise for the Winter Hawks. With a crop of young talent flocking in from all over Ontario, be sure to check out the 2-day split of games, this Saturday May 19th and Sunday May 20th. Just to give you a taste of what to expect, here are some numbers on incoming prospects.

Happy Friday Kid Zone Members; This weekend, Heart and Stroke will be dropping the puck, and well represented at the Winter Hawks game. Ryerson Elementary school has taken their school fundraiser to the next level, and will be invading Galt Arena in full force. Expect this weekend’s crowd to be lively and excited, especially with all of our Kidz Zone members there! A reminder that this weekend’s game is the second last in the Kidz Zone Attendance Race. There are still quite a few members who have attended all the games in the Attendance Race to date, so it will be an exciting finish for the top three prizes! At the game, we’ll have a Guess the Jar contest, where we’ve loaded up a jar full of valentine’s chocolates and whoever guesses the amount inside wins! We will also have some thrilling Winter Hawks trivia, and a come-one-come-all Kidz Zone giveaway, where you’ll enter a ballot to win! Bring your sweetheart or you best friend! If you see our photographer, try and get a snapshot! Best looking group (or pair) of Kidz Zone members might just wind up on our website! Game time is 7pm at the Galt Arena Gardens. Cambridge is hosting Listowel, which is sure to be an exciting game! See you at the game!
Skate with the Hawks, HAWK-ey Day and more!
Hey Kidz Zone Members! This weekend we’re inviting you to take part in Most Decorated Fan 2.0 and Loudest Fan 2.0! Since it’s Skate with the Hawks Night, we want you to strut your stuff! Wear your best Winter Hawks gear (Red, Black and White baby!), bring out your noise makers and your voices, and show us what you’re made of! The Most Decorated Fan 2.0 will win two tickets to the see the Toronto Maple Leafs, while the Loudest Fan 2.0 will receive a $50 Gift Certificate for the Cambridge Centre. The first 150 kids through the door, this Saturday, will receive a very special gift courtesy of our friends at Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro. Cambridge is taking on the pesky Listowel Cyclones, who have seemed to have our number this year. Let’s show them what our fans are made of, and lift the boys to a victory! Next weekend is HAWK-EY Day, and HAWK-EY Night! The Winter Hawks and the Cambridge Farmer’s Market are teaming up to give you the chance to play a little road hockey with the Winter Hawks, take part in some skills games, win some great prizes, and enjoy some one on one time with the Winter Hawks. Next Saturday, February 4th, from 9am to 1pm, the Winter Hawks will be taking over the Market, located on Dickson St. at Ainslie St.. That night we will be giving away some cool prizes from the road hockey game, and much more! Don’t miss out! See you at the game!
High School Night, Skate with the Hawks night, and PRIZES!
Hey Kidz Zone members and families! This weekend is High School night, presented by the Winter Hawks. All High School students with school ID will receive a special ticket price at the door. We will also be celebrating the life of Rich Nichols. Giveaways! All Kidz Zone members will have a chance to win one of 6 pairs of tickets to see the Cambridge Winter Hawks take on the Elmira Sugar Kings in Elmira, Sunday January 22nd. It is Elmira’s Honour the Veteran’s game.
All three Hawks lead way at All Star Game
It was a night of killer instinct for the Winter Hawks. At the Dan Snyder Memorial Arena, in Elmira, Cambridge Winter Hawks’ Josh Timpano, Michael Christou, and Ryan Clarke represented the black, red and white, on the Midwestern Conference All Star team.
Timpano will play in All Star series
Top three scorers will represent Cambridge According to the Stratford Gazette, All Star Andrew Barton will not play for the Midwestern’s best squad. “Barton’s spot, meanwhile, will be taken by Cambridge Winter Hawks’ forward Josh Timpano,” reported the Gazette, after detailing Barton’s potentially-season-ending knee injury. Timpano has come on hot as of late, amassing 28 points in 10 games leading up to the break, dating back to November 26th. In that span, Timpano failed to collect a point in only one game (at Elmira, December 11th). His point generation has thrust him into second in the league, trailing only Cam McLean of the Niagara Fall Canucks. Timpano is tops for the Midwestern Conference, with Brad McClure of the first place Stratford Cullitons trailing by 4 points. Joining him will be top forwards, Ryan Clarke and Michael Christou, who each hold a top 15 spot in league scoring. The first of two All Star games scheduled between the Midwestern Conference and the Golden Horseshoe conference is Monday, January 9th at the Dan Snyder Memorial Arena in Elmira. 2011-2012 Top Prospects announced!
After a brief delay, it appears as though Cody Gratton has made the cut and will be the lone representative announced for the Cambridge Winter Hawks at this year’s Top Prospects game. Gratton has had a blazing hot 2011 portion of this season, scoring 21 goals and 23 assists in 34 games, averaging 1.29 points per game. Check out the official press release, posted by the GOJHL, here! The Top Prospects game will be held in LaSalle, at the Vollmer arena at 7pm.

Happy Holidays to all of our fans and supporters! Here’s to a great ending to 2011, and a great start to the 2012 season. Your Cambridge Winter Hawks will return to the ice at Galt Arena Gardens, on Saturday January 7th. This is our official Family Night. We will be bringing out the prize vault, for all ages. Be sure to stay glued to your e-mail as the event approaches, as we’ll drop information regarding some of the bigger ticket items that will be available for winning on this evening.

Kidz Zone Night and Minor Hockey Night in Cambridge
Hey Kidz Zone members and families! It’s finally here! Tomorrow is Kidz Zone night and Minor Hockey Night in Cambridge. It’s a night of celebrating being a kid and loving hockey! Remember that there are four major contests tomorrow night, including: Kidz Zone Poster Contest Loudest Fan Most Decorated Fan Launch of the Kidz Zone Attendance Race Make sure to stop by the Kidz Zone Greatest Fan page often, to find out what other contests are coming up! Also, tomorrow night, we will be giving out brand new lanyards for all Kidz Zone members, to go with their membership cards, brought to you by the Cambridge Winter Hawks and Swiss Chalet. Don’t forget to bring your Kidz Zone card to either Cambridge Swiss Chalet location for a free kids meal! See attachment for full details. Next week is Salvation Army Toy and Battery Drive, as well as the second night in our Kidz Zone Attendance Race contest. There will also be HAWKey Trivia that night, as well as the start of the Winter Hawks Snowman contest. Santa is coming to Galt Arena on December 17th, and is bringing with him some cool gifts!
