Joe Machado – President

Joe Machado was born and raised on Pico Island in Portugal, where he spent his summers fishing, playing soccer, diving off cliffs and working in the family vineyard. After he graduated from high school, he moved to Canada, where he started working in manufacturing.

Before long, Joe fell in love with our national sport and quickly became intensely involved with the Cambridge Minor Hockey Association.  He has worked as Convener, Coach and Manager of several teams, Supervisor of Coaches, Alliance Representative and member of the Association’s Board of Directors.

In 2003, along with Paul Williamson, Joe acquired the Cambridge Winter Hawks. In addition to managing the Cambridge Winter Hawks, Joe, a licensed paralegal owns and manages Vocserv, a company that provides legal services for injured workers across the province. An avid golfer, he also plays the mandolin and guitar. He lives in Cambridge with his wife Margaret and two children.
