Rocco Trentadue
Rocco Trentadue – Goalie Coach:
Rocco was born in Toronto and grew up there until he moved to Cambridge when he was 15, where he now resides with his wife and children. Rocco’s coaching experience stretches back to well over 12 years. Previous to serving as Head Coach for the ’97 Cambridge Hawks Minor Peewee team and the following year with the Peewee team, he was assistant Coach with the Cambridge Hawks Atom team.
During this time, Rocco also coached soccer with CYS, where he worked with both boys and girls teams for 9 years. He has been training goalies since 1998 and now runs The Cambridge Crease goalie training centre in Cambridge. Rocco is also the goalie coach for the Hockey Loft Training Facility in the Cambridge Centre being run by former NHLer and Cambridge Winter Hawk Todd Harvey, Calgary Flames Todd Hlushko and Chuck Wight.
Rocco’s playing experience grows out of the MTHL which now is referred to as the GTHL Minor Hockey system, playing with the Toronto Marlies AAA and winning 4 Carnation Cups with the Marlies and The Toronto Young Nationals. He continued playing AAA throughout Novice to Bantam, then moved on to playing for the Cambridge Winter Hawks Junior “B” team from 1988-1991.
In 1991, Rocco was chosen to attend the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Training camps, which lead to 5 years of pro experience from the AHL with the Atlanta Knights, to the ECHL with the Louisville Icehawks, to the CHL, winning a championship with the Oklahoma City Blazers.
Rocco, believes that the key to success is through DEDICATION, DESIRE & DISCIPLINE (the 3 D’s) and a good work ethic. He views himself as a teacher and motivator as well.
